Benefits

Atchison Hospital provides benefits for its full- and part-time employees working 24 hours or more per week. Some benefits are paid in whole by the Hospital while other benefit premiums are shared or paid in whole by employees. Atchison Hospital participates in an IRS 125 Cafeteria Plan that allows qualified benefit premiums paid by employees to be deducted from their paychecks on a pre-tax basis.

Health Insurance – Atchison Hospital provides a self-funded health plan for employees with 4 tiers: employee only, employee and spouse, employee and child(ren), and employee and family. The premium is shared between the Hospital and employee. Prescription drug coverage and a Health Reimbursement Account are included in the health plan. Eligibility starts first of the month following 30 days of hire.

Wellness Program – At Atchison Hospital, the health of our employees is a top priority. Participants in the Wellness Program receive discounts on their Atchison Hospital Employee Group Health Plan premiums. Full- and part-time employees routinely scheduled at least 24 hours per week are eligible for a 50% discount on their YMCA or SNAP membership.

Dental Insurance – A self-funded plan with 4 tiers: employee only, employee and spouse, employee and child(ren), and employee and family. Coverage includes preventative, basic, and major dental procedures. The premium is shared between the Hospital and the employee. Eligibility starts first of the month following 30 days of hire.

Vision Insurance – Premiums are shared between the Hospital and the employee. There are 4 tiers of coverage: employee only, employee and spouse, employee and child(ren), and employee and family. Eligibility starts first of the month following 30 days of hire.

Short-term Disability – Hospital pays the full cost of this benefit for full-time employees. Eligibility starts first of the month following 30 days of hire.

Long-term Disability – Hospital pays the full cost of this benefit for full-time employees routinely scheduled to work 36 hours per week. Eligibility starts first of the month following 30 days of hire.

Employee/Spouse/Dependent Life Insurance – Hospital pays the full cost of this benefit for full- and part-time employees routinely scheduled a minimum of 24 hours per week. Employee benefit is one times annual salary. Up to $2000 of coverage included for eligible dependents. Eligibility starts first of the month following 30 days of hire.

Voluntary Supplemental Life Insurance – Full- and part-time employees routinely scheduled a minimum of 24 hours per week have the option of participating in this benefit by paying the full premium. Eligibility starts first of the month following 30 days of hire.

Accident and Critical Illness/Cancer Insurance – Voluntary benefit available to all employees. Full cost is paid by the employee.

Retirement Plan – Employees may participate in Atchison Hospital’s 401(k) retirement plan upon hire. Full- and part-time employees 20 years and older may receive a matching contribution of 50% up to a 6% employee deferral after completion of 1,000 hours and one year of service.

Education Assistance – Full-time employees are eligible for up to $1000 per year for tuition. Part-time employees routinely scheduled a minimum of 24 hours per week are eligible to receive a pro-rated amount based on their regular work schedule.

Employee Assistance Program – Free confidential short-term counseling and referral program for all employees and their families.

Flexible Spending Accounts – The ability to use pre-tax earnings to purchased eligible goods and services. Full- and part-time employees routinely scheduled a minimum of 24 hours per week are eligible for this benefit. Eligibility starts first of the month following 30 days of hire.
